Jorethang is a scenic town in South Sikkim, acting as a major transit hub for travelers coming from West Bengal to interior Sikkim. Though it doesn't have its own airport or railway station, it is well connected by road from nearby cities like Siliguri, Darjeeling, Gangtok, and Namchi.

By Air – Nearest Airports

 1. Bagdogra Airport (IXB), West Bengal

 ~90 km | ~3.5 to 4.5 hours by road

• The most convenient airport for reaching Jorethang.
• Connected to major Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Guwahati, etc.
• Taxis and shared jeeps to Jorethang are available from Siliguri (near Bagdogra).

 Tip: Book a prepaid taxi from Bagdogra or take a shared vehicle from Siliguri Junction.

 2. Pakyong Airport (PYG), Sikkim

 ~80 km |  ~3–4 hours by road

• A smaller airport near Gangtok with limited flight options.
• Better for connecting to Jorethang if you’re coming via Gangtok/Namchi route.

 By Train – Nearest Railway Stations

 1. New Jalpaiguri (NJP), Siliguri

 ~85 km | ~3.5–4 hours by road

• The main railhead for reaching Sikkim.
• Well-connected to:
  ✅ Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Howrah
• From NJP, take a taxi or shared jeep to Jorethang via Melli or Darjeeling More.

Jorethang is connected by smooth but hilly roads from nearby towns in West Bengal and Sikkim.

• Regular shared taxis run from:

• Private taxis can be hired at all major taxi stands or through hotels/tour operators.

 Tip: Shared jeeps fill up quickly in the morning. If you're traveling in the afternoon, book in advance or opt for a private cab.
