1. By Air (Nearest Airport)

 Tezu Airport (TZU) – 4 km from town

  • Tezu has a small airport with limited flight services.
  • Alliance Air operates flights connecting Tezu to Dibrugarh and Guwahati.

 Dibrugarh Airport (Mohanbari) – 160 km from Tezu (Recommended for better connectivity)

  • Nearest major airport with daily flights from Guwahati, Kolkata, and Delhi.
  • From Dibrugarh, take a taxi or shared cab to Tezu (4-5 hours journey).

 

2. By Train (Nearest Railway Station)

 Tinsukia Railway Station (Assam) – 180 km from Tezu (Best option for train travelers)

  • Well connected to Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Delhi, and Kolkata.
  • From Tinsukia, take a bus or taxi to Tezu (5-6 hours journey).

 Dibrugarh Railway Station – 165 km from Tezu

  • Another option, though Tinsukia has more frequent connectivity.

 

3. By Road (Best Route to Tezu)

 Tezu is well connected by road with Assam and nearby towns in Arunachal Pradesh.

Best Routes to Tezu:

 From Dibrugarh (160 km, 4-5 hours drive)

  • Take NH-15 → Cross the Brahmaputra via Bogibeel Bridge → Drive through Tinsukia → Continue on NH-15 → Take NH-13 to Tezu.

 From Tinsukia (180 km, 5-6 hours drive)

  • Take NH-15 → Cross Dirak Gate (Assam-Arunachal border) → Drive via Namsai → Continue to Tezu.

 From Itanagar (380 km, 10-12 hours drive)

  • Take NH-15 to Pasighat → Drive via Namsai → Continue to Tezu.

 

4. Public Transport Options

 By Bus:

  • Arunachal Pradesh State Transport (APST) and private buses run from Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, and Itanagar to Tezu.
  • Shared Sumo taxis are available from Tinsukia and Roing.

 By Taxi:

  • Private cabs and shared taxis operate from Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Roing.
  • Hiring a private vehicle is the best option for a comfortable journey.

 

5. Travel Permits (ILP Requirement)

 Inner Line Permit (ILP) is mandatory for Indian citizens visiting Arunachal Pradesh.

  • Apply Online: Arunachal Pradesh ILP Portal
  • Can also be obtained at entry checkpoints (Dirak Gate or Shantipur Gate).
  • Foreign tourists require a Protected Area Permit (PAP).
