Kollam is a major stop on National Waterway 3 and has traditional inland waterway connectivity.

 Options:

• Kollam–Alappuzha Backwater Cruise:
  • Daily houseboat or public ferry services run from Kollam to Alappuzha (8-hour journey).
• Kollam Boat Jetty: Located near the city center; operated by the Kerala State Water Transport Department (KSWTD).
• Local Canoes and Backwater Tours to Munroe Island, Ashtamudi Lake, etc.

Note:

Waterways are more scenic and best suited for leisure travelers, not for quick transit.
