Jammu Airport (Satwari Airport - IXJ) serves as the main air gateway to the region. It is well-connected to major Indian cities like:

  • Mumbai – Direct and connecting flights (approx. 2.5 to 4 hours)
  • Amritsar, Chandigarh, Srinagar, and Leh also have direct flights.

4. By Car (Self-Drive Option)

Driving to Jammu is a thrilling experience, especially for adventure lovers. The Jammu-Pathankot Highway and NH44 provide smooth connectivity. However, during monsoon or winter (snowfall season), be prepared for road closures in some areas.

 Recommended Route from Delhi:
Delhi → Karnal → Ambala → Ludhiana → Jalandhar → Pathankot → Jammu (via NH44)

 Best Pit Stops: Murthal (for parathas), Jalandhar (Punjabi dhabas), Pathankot (scenic views).

 

5. By Helicopter (For Vaishno Devi Pilgrims)

For those visiting Vaishno Devi Temple, helicopter services are available from Jammu to Sanjichhat (near Katra).
