1. How to Reach Haridwar

A. By Air – Nearest Airport

  • Jolly Grant Airport (DED) – Dehradun is the nearest airport, located 35 km from Haridwar.
  • Direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Jaipur, and Hyderabad.
  • Travel from Airport to Haridwar:
     Taxis & Private Cabs: ₹1,500 - ₹2,500 (45-minute ride).
     Buses: Available from Dehradun to Haridwar (₹100-₹200).

 Tip: Pre-book a taxi via Ola/Uber or local operators for a hassle-free transfer.

 

B. By Train – Haridwar Junction (HW)

Haridwar Railway Station is well-connected to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Varanasi.

 Popular Trains to Haridwar:
Shatabdi Express (Delhi to Haridwar) – Fastest option (4-5 hrs).
Jan Shatabdi Express (Delhi to Haridwar) – Budget-friendly and comfortable.
Haridwar Express (Mumbai to Haridwar) – Convenient for travelers from Maharashtra.
Kumbh Express & Doon Express – Connects Kolkata and Eastern India.

 Tip: Book train tickets 1-2 months in advance, especially during festivals like Kumbh Mela & Kanwar Yatra.

 From Delhi to Haridwar:

  • Distance: 230 km (4.5-5.5 hrs drive) via NH 334.
  • Self-Drive Option: Car rentals available in Delhi (₹3,500-₹5,000 per day).

 Bus Services to Haridwar:

  • Government Buses: Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) runs buses from Delhi, Rishikesh, and Dehradun.
  • Private Volvo & AC Buses: Operated by RedBus, UPSRTC, and Uttarakhand Parivahan.
  • Fare: ₹400-₹1,500 (Volvo AC), ₹200-₹500 (Non-AC).

 Tip: Take an overnight bus from Delhi for a budget-friendly and comfortable journey.

Once you reach Haridwar, there are multiple transport options to explore the city conveniently.

A. Auto-Rickshaws & Vikrams
