• The Directorate is actively involved in promoting skill development.
  • Adventure Skill Development Training: In 2025, the Directorate launched an initiative to train and certify individuals in adventure tourism, including sports climbing, paragliding, and scuba diving, to enhance safety standards and create employment.
  • "Tourist Buddy" Scheme (2024): This pilot project aims to train local community members as "Tourist Buddies" who possess good knowledge of their areas. Training includes tourist handling skills, paramedic skills, rescue operations, storytelling, and social media management. This initiative aims to involve communities in monitoring and promoting tourist locations and providing feedback.
