Climate of Ladakh

Ladakh experiences an extreme and unique climate due to its high altitude, ranging from 2,500 meters to over 7,000 meters above sea level.

  • Summer (June to September): Pleasant and ideal for travel, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C during the day.
  • Winter (October to March): Harsh and freezing, with temperatures dropping to -20°C to -30°C, especially in January and February.
  • Monsoon (July-August): Ladakh falls in a rain-shadow region, meaning it receives very little rainfall compared to other parts of India.
