Tamil Nadu has a tropical climate with hot summers, moderate winters, and seasonal rainfall.

1️ Summer (March – May)

  • Temperature: 25°C – 45°C
  • Hot and dry, with April and May being the hottest months.
  • Coastal areas experience high humidity.

2️ Monsoon (June – November)

  • Tamil Nadu is unique as it receives most of its rainfall from the Northeast Monsoon (October – December) rather than the Southwest Monsoon (June – September).
  • The Western Ghats receive heavy rainfall, while inland regions get moderate showers.
  • Cyclones from the Bay of Bengal occasionally affect coastal districts.

3️ Winter (December – February)

  • Temperature: 15°C – 25°C
  • Pleasant weather with cooler temperatures in hill stations like Ooty and Kodaikanal.
  • Coastal and inland areas remain mild and comfortable.
