B. Islamic Shrines & Sufi Dargahs

7. Hazratbal Shrine (Srinagar)

  • A revered Muslim shrine that houses the Moi-e-Muqaddas – a holy relic believed to be a hair strand of Prophet Muhammad.
  • The shrine’s white marble structure stands beautifully on the banks of Dal Lake.

8. Jamia Masjid (Srinagar)

  • A 14th-century mosque, built by Sultan Sikandar, showcasing stunning Indo-Saracenic architecture.
  • The mosque has 378 wooden pillars and offers a peaceful retreat amidst bustling Old Srinagar.

9. Charar-e-Sharief (Budgam, Kashmir)

  • The mausoleum of Sufi saint Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani, also known as Nund Rishi.

10. Baba Reshi Shrine (Gulmarg)

11. Hemis Monastery (Ladakh)

  • Largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh, belonging to the Drukpa lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

12. Thiksey Monastery (Leh, Ladakh)

13. Diskit Monastery (Nubra Valley, Ladakh)

14. Alchi Monastery (Ladakh)

15. Spituk Monastery (Leh, Ladakh)
