Origin: Originates from the central part of Nagaland.
Course: Flows in a northeast direction through Zunheboto and Phek districts, eventually joining the Chindwin River in Myanmar.
Significance: It is considered the second largest and longest river of Nagaland, roughly covering one-third area of the state. Its major tributaries include the Zungki, Lanye, and Likimro rivers.
Hydroelectric Project: The 1 MW Ponglefo Small Hydro Electric Project (SHP) was recently inaugurated on the Likimo River, a tributary of the Tizu River, in Kiphire district.
