Handicrafts in Uttarakhand are deeply influenced by the environment, lifestyle, and religious practices of its people. Most artisans come from rural communities and use natural, eco-friendly materials like wood, wool, metal, and stone.

The government supports handicrafts through:

• Uttarakhand Handloom & Handicraft Development Council (UHHDC)
• Cottage Industries Emporium (Bharat Emporium)
• SHGs and NGOs promoting women artisans and local clusters
