Origin: The Siddi community has a unique history, being descendants of East African people who were brought to India, often as slaves or merchants, over centuries.
Culture: They have largely assimilated into Indian society while retaining some unique African cultural elements, particularly in their music and dance forms (e.g., Goma dance, which involves drumming and energetic movements). Their presence is more prominent in Gujarat's Saurashtra region, but a small community also exists in Diu.
